The root of life

There are different varieties of ginseng, divided in two types: Korean and American. The Korean Ginseng is the most valuable and appreciated due to its properties and ginsenosides concentration. This concentration may vary as well accordingly to the root ageing and the used extraction methods.
A third variant exists and its commonly designated as Siberian Ginseng but it is not a real ginseng root since it is a distant relative of the species.

Ganoderma

Widely used in the oriental medicine and also known as Reisi (Japan) or Língzi (China), the Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom has been receiving much appreciation in the eastern medicine due to the increasing knowledge about its medicinal properties. The components of this mushroom have been associated with a beneficial treatment for cancer and diabetes, the immunity system regulation and the decrease of inflammations. It is rich in essential amino acids, polysaccharides, proteins, minerals, vitamins and a large variety of enzymes. It has more than 150 antioxidants and 200 phyto-nutrients in its composition, being therefore considered a super-food.

Gingko Biloba

Gingko Biloba is one of the oldest tree species in the world. There is fossil evidence of its existence 170 million years ago. This plant, with its origin in Asia, can live up to 1000 years and grow up to 35 meters. It has been used for medicinal purposes for more that 1000 years and it is actually one of the most used phytotherapeutic plants worldwide. It is well known for its antioxidant benefits, for treating memory problems, lack of energy, lack of concentration, sexual impotence, among others.

Royal Jelly

This has been described to be one of the most perfect foods ever produced by nature. It is traditionally used as a stimulant for fatigue conditions, lack of energy, lack of appetite, convalescence and to reinforce the defence mechanisms of the human body. It is distinguished by its high nutritional value and remarkable physiologic actions, promoting it to the status of super-food.
